Abstract

There are many takeovers of organisations every year but does being taken over improve market position and give a competitive advantage? This project is looking at specifically WorldFirst’s takeover by Ant Financial and what effect this has had on the UK foreign exchange market.
The research project will identify WorldFirst’s market position in the UK in relation to its UK competitors during the period of 2015-2019 and assess the effect that the takeover by Ant Financial had on WorldFirst’s market position in the UK market. It will also identify the factors that affected WorldFirst market position in the UK because of the takeover and finally give advice to UK Foreign Exchange firms if takeover strategies would improve their market position.
